more than blood: misanthropy, maulings, oil, greed, insanity…
Hey look it’s that Last of the Mohican’s guy and he rocks in this sumptuous slice of human self-induced misery. What this isn’t is a feel-good flick, what it is is a magnificently disturbing set of events that leave you gratified, miserable, disorientated and moved. Gripping from the onset with quite an uncomfortably long passage without any dialogue or music. I was slightly disappointed that the first words to be spoken, after such a dramatic opening, weren’t more poignant to the story but maybe that’s the point – though I think I’m still right.
Not a good idea to see if you are suicidal but definitely a must-see if you liked Requiem for a Dream, not that there is too much likeness other than them both having a disturbing impact.
