It took about 8/9 hours (I’m still not sure where/if Blender displays the total time taken to render an animation). I’m fairly happy with how things turned out. The background could use a bit more detail and somehow the sky got messed up. After fiddling around I discovered that somehow a texture got mapped to the texture input in the World Buttons. I’m not entirely sure what you use this setting for but at least I can now see some results of using it.
Annoying thing is that this scene needs to be submitted today for my profile on the graduation DVD. So I don’t have time to re-render. I’ll just have to convince myself that it is an artistic discovery and makes the sky look “cloudy” or some bollocks.
The trees need more shading, and there are some issues still with the butterfly on the stalk: noticed some intersection between the wing and the legs when it reaches the top and there is still a weird “sparkle” thing happening at certain angles with the wing. I am not sure how to solve the latter and might just have to live with it in the final work.
