Produced by David Blackwell for Equestrian Publishing Pty Ltd, for a web based advertising deployment for the Knockout Horses subscription service.

This video was my first foray into video advertisement for web deployment, and it was delivered on a tight budget as well as having a quick production turnover (about 2 weeks).

It was designed specifically to be a product illustration in video format – a new way in which customers could be informed about Equestrian Publishing’s products (in this case, the Knockout Horses subscription service). The attractive point about this advertising deployment was that, a lot of information could be absorbed by potential customers in a short space of time (in the video’s case, 3 minutes), and the media would be easily accessible and deployable via a flash video hosting service like YouTube – and subsequently easily integrated into the usual type of email newsletter advertisement campaigns.

The Fritz is a pilot TV show project that was produced at QUT. It’s a panel-format TV show that discusses, pokes fun at, and parodies all the news, trends and developments in television entertainment.

Creating the idea involved discussion with The Fritz’s producer on style and mood, culminating in a storyboard pitch that was accepted. Production involved sourcing stock images, and taking assets made in photoshop, illustrator and Maya into After Effects. The resultant animation was used in a pitch by The Fritz producers to get the idea funded. After The Fritz received production funding from QUT, the animated sequence was updated with higher resolution images of the cast and guests – and more work introduced in the form of interstitial animations used to introduce show segments, and parody mockups.
